I just realised that my last post for Seize The Birthday was ... well, my last post for Seize The Birthday! I have stepped down from the Design Team for now, but will definitely miss working alongside the other talented members, who I also call friends.
I am now working almost full time (at The Scrapbook Store here in Perth ... my dream job!) as well as doing some classes and taking care of the family with a hubby that is away a lot. So I thought it was time to take a step back from some of my extra responsibilities and make things a bit easier on myself.
This year has been a big one for our family. My youngest daughter has just graduated high school and is putting the finishes touches on her debut EP which is set for release early next year. My oldest daughter has just finished her third year at University where she is doing a Chemistry degree, and my hubby and I had our very belated honeymoon and first ever holiday together and travelled to the UK and France in August/September, followed by a brief trip over to Sydney for my brothers wedding.
I don't know whether I will keep this blog going into the new year, since it was mostly used for the sharing of design team projects and all of my projects are already shared on my Facebook and Instagram pages. Which seems to be the preferred method for sharing among crafters these days! The old blog tends to be pretty quiet as far as visitors and comments go these days.
However I do have a few cards to share today that I made featuring THIS technique shared by Jennifer McGuire recently. I just really love how effective this technique is.
This week over on The Scrapbook Store blog I have created a water coloured Christmas card to share with you, featuring an Avery Elle stamp set called ‘Holiday Glass’. It features some gorgeous stained glass looking stamps as well, but for my project I have used the sweet holly image from the set.
I have another Christmas card to share this week, featuring an adorable little stamp from Avery Elle called ‘Happy Howli-days’. It features a cute little dog and would be perfect for your pooch loving friends (of which I have many!).
Taking a break from the Christmas cards this week, because I picked up these new goodies from The Scrapbook Store and couldn’t wait to play with them! Today’s card features a new stamp & cut set from Hero Arts called ‘Grateful Leaves’.
It has been such a long time since I played along with any challenges, but I couldn't resist combining this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things with these adorable Llamas (also MFT). I had not had a chance to ink them up yet, but they are just so cute!
This is the sketch they have this week.
And this was my card featuring stamps from Llama Love, as well as the new snowfall dienamics.
I was going for a sunset/early evening starry night kind of look with the colours, and I love how the background die works for starts as well as snow :) I coloured the Llama and the cactus with Copic Markers.
All Stamps & Dies: My Favorite Things
Other: Steel glitter paper, white embossing powder, Copic Markers
I read somewhere yesterday that there are only 11 more Friday’s until Christmas … Eeek! Time to get moving on those Christmas cards! This week’s card was so fun to put together using new goodies from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things available in store now at The Scrapbook Store.
I have another Christmas card for you this week over on The Scrapbook Store Blog, and it’s a nice clean & simple design which is great for mass producing. Always a bonus when you have a lot of cards to make!
